Le Stash est une piste ludique créée au sein de la forêt des Lindarets en 2007. Partie d'une idée des shapers en 2004, de créer un espace mélangeant "freeride en forêt" et "freestyle", ils se sont lancés dans l'aménagement de cette forêt pendant la période estivale, en récupérant du bois sur place pour y créer des modules. A cette époque, la zone s’appelait Le Biotop.
En même temps, à quelques milliers de kilomètres, Jake Burton créateur de la marque Burton Snowboard avait un peu la même idée et créa à Northstar Californie : The Stash. Jake Burton déclarait à l'époque :
"Le « Stash » est né de l’absence de structures de glisse pour les riders « séniors » qui ont commencé à pratiquer le freeride il y a une vingtaine d’années et qui ont désormais des enfants pratiquant le freestyle, discipline qui possède actuellement un fort potentiel de développement. Parents et enfants aspirant à rider ensemble dans un espace permettant de pratiquer les 2 formes de glisse, trouveront ici un espace consensuel pour une pratique ludique partagée."
Depuis, le Stash - Avoriaz, n'a cessé de s'agrandir et d'évoluer jusqu'à être élu en 2015 par la chaîne CNN meilleur spot du monde.

The history of the Stash :
The Stash is a snowpark that was created in the heart of the Lindarets forest in 2007. Born from an idea the shapers had in 2004, to create a space that mixes "freeride in the forest" and "freestyle", they started developing the forest during the summer, by utilising wood found on site to create the modules. Originally, the park was called the Biotop.
At the same time, a few thousand kilometers away, Burton Snowboards had a similar idea, and created the first Stash in Northstar, California. An idea by the creator of the brand, Jake Burton, who said at the time :
"The “Stash” is born from an absence of sliding structures for ‘senior’ riders who started freeriding about 20 years ago and who now have children who are into freestyle, where there is enormous potential for development. Parents and children aspiring to ride together in this area whilst doing different forms of snowsports will find here a domain that is, by common consensus, ideal for sharing fun. Riding the Stash means heading into the heart of nature but on secure terrain."
Since then, the Stash - Avoriaz, hasn't stopped evolving and in 2015 it was voted best spot in the world by the CNN channel.
